Message from Cardinal Rigali
Dear Friends in Christ,
As we implement the mission of the Church in this third century in Philadelphia, I reflect on the great faith, vision and generosity of those who have gone before us. We have been richly blessed. With those blessings comes the responsibility to pass on to future generations all that we have received.
Recognizing the great opportunity that our Bicentennial as a diocese provided, I invited a group of priests and lay leaders to assist me in identifying the most pressing needs—and most promising opportunities—facing our Archdiocese. I am pleased now to outline those critical priorities for you, and to invite you to join me by making a sacrificial commitment, an investment, in Heritage of Faith ~ Vision of Hope, an extraordinary undertaking designed to meet the challenges of the Church at this historic time.
I hope and trust that you will share my conviction that in meeting our challenge we will make an historic contribution to the future of the Church of Philadelphia. Our combined efforts will provide us the opportunity to move beyond our Bicentennial with confidence, knowing that we have done all that we can to launch the Church’s third century of service to the community.
We look to the future with optimism and hope, and ask for your prayers and enthusiastic support in this great endeavor. May God bless our efforts.
Sincerely in Christ,

Cardinal Justin Rigali
Archbishop of Philadelphia
